National Young Ambassador for England Golf, 2020 Jr Vice captain at Bedfordshire and County Golf Club
You’re never too young to start enjoying golf. I started playing golf when I was 4 years old. Mum and Dad thought it was a nice way for me to be outside, make new friends and learn something new. I started off having group lessons with my coach Sam Smith PGA professional at The Bedford Golf Course. And from that very first swing I loved it.
I took part in my first proper competition The Shires Jr Golf Tour when I was only 8 years old. It was such an amazing experience, because I was able to nurture my passion, have lots of fun and I have made life long friends. I have taken part every year since and am now a mentor, where I look out for and support the little ones and my playing partners.
I play for my County and have represented Bedford under 12’s and under 14’s. I enjoy County matches, because they have many match play competitions, which is my favourite format. I love the fact that you could be 5 down with 6 to play and still come in victorious, proving that you should never give up.
One of my proudest achievement was becoming an England Golf Youth Ambassador, following in the footsteps of my favourite Golfer Justin Rose. This is my second year, and I hope to raise awareness of Jr Golf, support my Golf club Bedfordshire and County Golf Club and be a role model for any Junior wanting to take up golf.
